Full biography Marcel Poot
Marcel Poot was a Belgian composer , musician, and professor born on May 7, 1901, in Vilvoorde, Brussels. His father was the director of the Royal Flemish Theatre , but he was determined to make Marcel a musician. Marcel started with the piano, and the town organist Gerard Nauwelaerts taught him scales and the Czerny exercises. Poot went on to study harmony, counterpoint, and fugue at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Brussels.
