Leonel Power was an English composer who lived during the late Medieval and early Renaissance eras , from around 1370 to 1445. He is considered to be one of the dominant figures in 15th century English music, along with John Dunstaple. Power wrote an impressive amount of music, possibly three times as much as any other known composer of his time , and his writing reflects the richer sonorities of English music.

Power was associated with the Household Chapel of Thomas, Duke of Clarence during the first part of his career, from about 1413 until 1421. He also worked as a choirmaster and composer, and his music was widely performed during his lifetime. Power's theoretical treatise "on the gamme , or musical scale]" is a notable contribution to music theory of the time.

Some of Power's works include masses, motets, and chansons, and his compositions are known for their harmonic richness and melodic beauty. His music has been praised for its use of rhythmic and melodic patterns, as well as its expressive power.

Overall, Leonel Power was a significant figure in the development of English music during the late Medieval and early Renaissance eras , and his work continues to be studied and appreciated today.
