Eduard Lassen was a prominent composer and conductor who lived from 1830 to 1904. He was born in Denmark and later settled in Germany, where he became the conductor of the Weimar Court Orchestra, a position previously held by Franz Liszt. Lassen was known for his friendship with Liszt and Wagner, and he was a notable figure in the Romantic era of classical music.
In addition to his work as a conductor, Lassen was also a prolific composer. He wrote a number of operas, including "Der letzte Zauberer" and "Le Roi Edgard," as well as several orchestral works and chamber pieces.
