Conrad Paumann was a German composer, organist, and lutenist of the early Renaissance. He was born around 1410 in Nuremberg, Germany, and died on January 24, 1473 in Munich at the age of 63. Despite being blind from birth, he was known as one of the most talented composers of his time and contributed significantly to the development of keyboard music.

Paumann's most notable works include Fundamentum Organisandi, a treatise on organ playing, and the Buxheimer Orgelbuch, a collection of organ music that he compiled along with other composers of his time. He is also known for his lute music, though much of it has been lost over time.
